As always, I really enjoy Jamie Brenner's books. This one was actually fun to read after Gilt because I got to see the characters from there and didn't know they were kind of interspersed. This one was definitely on the heavier side but I appreciated the aspects of found family and a tight-knit community.  I also thought the the deep conversations between spouses, mother and daughters were so well done. I liked the casual mentions of Judaism and the nuances I picked up on as a Jewish reader. Overall, this was quick-paced and I enjoyed immersing myself in a summery book setting. Even though some of the content was heavier, Brenner still managed to find a lightheartedness about it and pull in readers with ease.
