The Cold Dish: A Longmire Mystery
by Craig Johnson
A fan of the TV show (no one was more surprised than me), I'm now a fan of the novel. This version of Walt is bit more complicated and more of an everyman. It's first person, so you come to know him better and more quickly. Vic (and Lucian) as written really couldn't be done on TV, so they don't seem like variations, but rather unique characters. Henry Standing Bear does, however, sound like Lou Diamond Phillips in my head.
