The Midnight Star by Marie Lu
5.0
"Someday, when I am nothing but dust and wind, what tale will they tell about me?"
-Adelina
I am in rapture. I loved. Marie Lu, you are a beautiful and exquisite storyteller and worldbuilder. The cost of powers was good and made the stakes high and important.
The extras at the beginning are gorgeous and poignant. The story and the characters are gripping.
I never predicted anything really. The second made the series seem complete but this conclusion was extraordinary.
A very satisfying end.
Spoilers.
"You are a thousand things, mi Adelinetta, not just one. Do not reduce yourself to that."
-Magiano
The quest was unpredictable and interesting. I liked bringing them together.
The romance was beautiful that Magiano was so kind and precious to her. I thought it was touching with her battle against the whispers.
The reveals were amazing.
The deaths touched me. I love tragedy as it adds realism. It was the perfect ending and it is brave. A lot of people hated it but why? "We are destined to be forever young."
The Midnight Star!
"The immortal story of the White Wolf, who may have been a courageous hero or a cruel villain. Depending which version of the story you've heard."
