The End of Temperance Dare by Wendy Webb

5.0

I received a free copy through Netgalley, in return for my honest review.

Eleanor, the main character, feels she is drawn to Cliffside, the old sanatorium turned into retreat for artists. She always looked up to the Dare-sisters, and feels honoured that she is allowed to be the new director of the place. But what is this haunting feeling she keeps getting - is it really only her own stress?

This book took me back to my youth, when I loved to read books of the scary kind. I wasn't a gothic girl just for the nice dresses, although the books were not as scary as this - most of the time. It's half past ten in the evening now, I just finished 'The End of Temperance Dare', and I've warned The Husband that I might get some serious nightmares this time. If you ask me if the book was worth this, I will say 'it absolutely is!'
