I had a few worries while reading this book. The first was that it was starting to follow romance tropes (the main characters were paired up and it seemed too perfect when the flaws of the characters led to more natural romances in previous books) and the second was that we lost more of what made Aelin's character.
It took reading the end, gripping the last few pages until I felt my jaw drop that those worries were dismissed and my love for this series burned. I'm so glad I have the sequel immediately next to me, this series is unlike any of read since reading the Dragonlance books.
