The first time I read this book I knew I wanted to read it again at some point to be able to rehash the ideas presented. It’s a humbling perspective of the destructive life humans live and an inspiring invitation to take less from the earth, live in greater harmony with the community of life on earth and not to forget the past and the ancient wisdom of our ancestors, but lean into their wisdom to create a better future. The stories we have been told and the stories we will tell our children are powerful sources of idleness and apathy or proactive empathy and change.
