The Sisters Are Alright: Changing the Broken Narrative of Black Women in America by Tamara Winfrey Harris

5.0

This book is not only a survey of modern culture in moments writers or celebrities or politicians used stereotypes of Black Women to dismiss, denigrate, or disparage them; it is a celebration of what Black Womanhood actually is about, and why so much of that has been influenced by systemic racism and sexism. This is not a sad book, though. It is a real, encouraging, vibrant book. I'm a White guy, and White guys should read this.
