Wonderfully written series of essays wherein the author explores his relationship with his body and transitioning. He offers a lot of nuance and reflects on his experiences in relationship with the church, patriarchy, and culture. The Golden Girls essay made me cry, the Evelyn Waugh essay was brilliant, and his Green Knight essay was delightfully relatable. As someone who wasn’t raised Christian though, I had a hard time with the first couple of essays, although I could still understand his overall points.
