A YA thriller set at an elite summer camp on the outskirts of a small town. A townie gets murdered on Camp Alpine Lake grounds. Sounds right up my alley! What would have been a 3.5 star read for me, was brought down to a 2 star. I don’t know if the author is anti-American or if she just felt the need to sprinkle completely unnecessary anti-American digs into the last half of the book, but that’s not my jam. She’s lucky I wanted to know what happened, or I would have DNF’d on the spot. So annoying. The only other book I’ve read from this author was a 3 star, so I don’t think I’ll move forward with any of her others ✌
