kesiabug 's review for:
To Paradise
by Hanya Yanagihara
I first fell in love with Yanagihara's prose in A Little Life, she ripped my heart out of my chest with The People in the Trees... and now, one thing remains the same... she takes her damn time and writes with as many details as she damn well pleases, not caring how long it takes or who sticks around for the entire ride. It's hard not to appreciate that!
This is a swaggering, bulky, (sometimes, confusing?) beast of a book and it simply does not care what you want it to be. I have many reasons to be on the fence with this one... but honestly, the magic of Yanagihara can just not be denied. I loved it. Maybe not all its parts. But yes... I love it.
