Okay if you’re looking for a fun and lighthearted achillean romance then this is ABSOLUTELY a book you should pick up.
Each character had a very strong personality and a lot of depth to them. Especially our two leads. While their conflict starts off from what I think is a more childish place, it continues due to their deep rooted insecurities and personal struggles. It felt really well done and extremely real. I really liked Ambrose’s conflict stemming from his abusive childhood and being abandoned and how he couldn’t heal and become better until he over came that. I also really liked Eli’s struggle with not feeling like he belonged anywhere or ever really found his true passion. That’s not even getting into the colourful cast of other shop owners on their street that I ADORED.
I think the writing style was super lively and evocative. I not only had a clear picture of the characters and their settings, but also their feelings. The highs and lows of joy and melancholy and success and failure. Not only that, but the writing style and proses really helped to illustrate how colourful and alive the cast and world are. It was just so well suited to the story being told.
While I could talk for AGES about the book I’ll hold off from accidentally spoiling it. It absolutely deserves to be read, the romance was absolutely amazing.
