This book is SO GOOD!!! Good at making me feel SICK!

Being more serious, it is sad to see the current discourse surrounding this book causing people to see it through a very simplistic lens where people are split into two camps: Lolita either glorifies pedophilic relationships and abuse and therefore should not be read, or Lolita is a love story and should be read. OBVIOUSLY pedophilia is bad, but professional reviews applauding Lolita as a "love story" 🤢🤢🤮 or view Dolores as a "nymphet" or "seductress" 🤢🤢🤮 clearly did not read this book with the right intentions and yeah, its very telling if you believe that. Similarly, people who claim Lolita glorifies abuse and pedophilia i could infidelity see where people get that impression, but the harm humbert humbert has inflicted on Dolores is so glaringly clear that the message of the book must be read with the wrong intentions in order for someone to believe that

Anyways, five stars for the masterful prose and the harrowing, evocative story. I think Nabokov's manipulation of words and literature is masterful in depicting a contradictory character who is deceitful, disgusting, old, creepy, and charming all at the same time.

This book is about humbert humbert, but i think it can also be for the Dolores Hazes of the world.
