The Terraformers
by Annalee Newitz
I am not going to say I really wanted to like this book as I went into it without any expectations after a search for the best sci-fi novels of the year.
Regardless, it’s absurd.
It feels like a school eco, vegan, anti-capitalist presentation with cartoonish, shallow characters and loopholes galore. You’d applaud the kids for effort, but this is supposed to be an adult book for adults.
I’m genuinely concerned that a book like this was such a massive hit and it further reinforces my belief that democracy and reviewing is massively skewed and it’s only becoming worse.
