As a mid-40s Black woman going through perimenopause, this book about a mid-40s woman going through perimenopause did not resonate with me at all. This may be one of the worst stories I’ve ever read. I hated the main character so much. She really needed therapy for the issues that per parents put her through and for what happened during her childbirth situation. I should have DNFd the book but I had to know how it ended. After finishing it, I could have just read the last page and gone on with my life, but noooooo… I trudged through the book feeling like a prisoner unable to escape.
Graphic: Body shaming, Vomit, Pregnancy
