GOD this is such a unique book, I can’t wrap my head around what a cool way this was to tell a story. I love how each person’s voice looks back on the events of the book in different ways, how they tell the story in such a way that it feels genuine and real. It really feels like a recording of events that happened, not a normal novel.
I am very surprised this book wasn’t far more dramatic, which is the only reason I’m taking half a star off. The crazy substance abuse and addiction are of course very heavy and I think very well handled, but I feel like a lot of the plot was mostly set up without a ton of dramatic pay off. I expected a lot more shocking events.
That being said, this is an incredible reading experience, and the audiobook makes it 100 times better.
