Le premier tome du nouveau cycle tant attendu ave Ari mon chouchou !
J'avais TELLEMENT HÂTE de découvrir l'histoire d'Ari pour qui j'ai eu un coup de coeur dès la première fois où je l'ai aperçu (dans Court of Ice and Ash) ! Et vu toutes les tensions et le mystère entourant Saga qu'on a dans le précédent livre (Dance of Kings and Thieves), j'étais plus que curieuse de voir comment la cohabitation allait fonctionner ... Et découvrir le royaume au Sud !
ET J'AI ADORE !
Ce que j'ai plus particulièrement aimé :
- l'angst ! J'ai un faible pour l'angst quand c'est bien écrit et j'adore pleurer avec les personnages et avoir le coeur serré pour eux ... Et là j'ai été servi ! Par le passé de Saga, par le passé d'Ari, par ce qui arrive à Sofia (OMG !) ...
- l'univers cette fois-ci dans le royaume du Sud ! Toujours inspiré de la mythologie nordique ce que j'adore bien sûr =) J'ai adoré découvrir les différentes espèces de Fae là-bas, qui sont tellement inhumains mais aussi leurs légendes, leurs coutumes et les différentes cours !
- les différentes intrigues notamment tout le mystère autour du passé de Saga (OMG mon coeur s'est brisé TELLEMENT DE FOIS !!) mais aussi la quête pour qu'elle retrouve son héritage et tous les dangers et les manigances des différentes cours (j'ai DETESTE la cour des Serpents !) Je ne vais pas spoiler mais certaines personnes auraient tellement mérité d'être décapité BIEN AVANT !
- les personnages qui m'ont fasciné ! Ici on a des personnages très humains et bien plus nuancés et avec tellement de secrets et des histoires tellement sombres et horribles ... J'ai adoré découvrir ce qu'ils avaient vécu et survécu ! Mention spéciale pour Ari qui est un personnage tellement complexe et bien plus torturé que ce à quoi je m'attendais ! Et coup de coeur pour Saga qui est tellement forte et attachante !
- la romance qui était PARFAITE ! Tout cet angst, toute cette tension, tous ces malentendus et finalement, malgré toutes leurs blessures et leurs doutes, une relation tellement belle et romantique <3
- CETTE FIN !!! Très Belle au bois dormant ><
Bref, un tome de romantasy inspi viking que j'ai dévoré ! Pour les fans de la série, c'est probablement l'un des meilleurs tomes !

The first book of the long-awaited new cycle with Ari, my darling !
I was SO LOOKING FORWARD to discover the story of Ari who I fell in love with from the first time I saw him (in Court of Ice and Ash) ! And given all the tensions and the mystery surrounding Saga that we have in the previous book (Dance of Kings and Thieves), I was more than curious to see how cohabitation would work ... And discover the kingdom in the South !
AND I LOVED IT !
What I particularly liked :
- the angst ! I have a weakness for angst when it's well written and I love crying with the characters and having my heart ache for them ... And there I got it ! By Saga's past, by Ari's past, by what happens to Sofia (OMG !) ...
- the universe this time in the Southern Kingdom ! Always inspired by Norse mythology which I love of course =) I loved discovering the different species of Fae there, who are so inhuman but also their legends, their customs and the different courts !
- the different plots notably all the mystery around Saga's past (OMG my heart has broken SO MANY TIMES !!) but also the quest to find her heritage and all the dangers and the shenanigans of the different courts (I HATED the Serpent Court !) I won't spoil it but some people would have deserved to be decapitated LONG BEFORE !
- the characters who fascinated me ! Here we have very human and much more nuanced characters with so many secrets and such dark and horrible stories ... I loved discovering what they had experienced and survived ! Special mention for Ari who is such a complex character and much more tortured than I expected ! And we fell in love with Saga which is so strong and endearing !
- the romance that was PERFECT ! All this angst, all this tension, all these misunderstandings and finally, despite all their hurts and doubts, such a beautiful and romantic relationship <3
- THIS END !!! Very Sleeping Beauty ><
In short, a book of Viking-inspired romantasy that I devoured ! For fans of the series, this is probably one of the best books !
