Maison Ikkoku Collector's Edition, Vol. 1 by Rumiko Takahashi
5.0
Created when Eisner Hall of Famer Takahashi Rumiko was in her twenties, Maison Ikkoku is a dear 1980s rom-com that extends into segments of real depth as well and is counted among some of the most memorable and beloved comics. Now marking 40 years in 2020 is an omnibus release of 10 volumes over coming months. And the new English localization is a significant draw. Taking books with the influence on the translation and name of felon Gerard Jones off my shelf to replace with copies of a new fresh English edition was one the few happy things to happen this year.
