Maybe the Horse Will Talk by Elliot Perlman
4.0
I've been an admirer of Perlman's work for years and he brings a profoundly humanist viewpoint to the travails of the modern world, particularly Australia, and even more particularly Melbourne in his fiction. This latest novel is more overtly comic than his other work, even as it deals with the profoundly unfunny topic of sexual harassment in the workplace. It fits loosely into the genre of office satire, if there is such a thing, with a pair of lawyers ostensibly on opposite sides of a case work together to fight against corporate greed and misogyny. It does strain credibility at times, but I found it to be a very enjoyable read.
