Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas
5.0
Let me just put this little disclaimer out there: Pen Douglas is an acquired taste. I’ve seen a lot of reviews about this or other works of theirs that are at both ends of the spectrum. You either hate it or you love it.
That being said, I loved this book. It was a quick and easy read and Pen’s writing style kept me intrigued from the beginning.
I was able to appreciate the character growth when they finally got on the same page and Ryen learned to accept herself and stop being a fake popular mean girl, and her and Misha helped to kind of “fix” each other.
Not to mention, the spice was great.
If you like enemies to lovers and high school romance, this one is for you. Some areas of this book were difficult to read and tackled some difficult subjects, but their message of learning to love yourself while coming of age with a HEA ending was worth it for me.
Triggers: possessive relationship, bullying, depression, drugs, harassment
