She stows away on his ship!! Truly an underutilized premise if you ask me!
Anyways I really like this book, probably the most in the series. I always like the first book in a series of historical romances about families that's about the headstrong, impossible daughter. Violet and her quest are irresistible, and Long does a perfect job of putting her on page such that she shows you from the jump who she is and what she's about. She's the best match for Flint, a perfect impulsive foil to his calculated nature. As with all Long's books, it's a slow burn to the sex but it's worth the wait. And as with all her books, they can't get 5 stars from me because they end too abruptly. Give me more!!
