Batgirl, Vol. 2: Knightfall Descends by Vicente Cifuentes, Ardian Syaf, Gail Simone, Ed Benes, Alitha Martinez

3.0

I have mixed feelings about this book, even though the first half felt disorganized the second half is a great buildup to whatever Gail Simone have in store for the next volume. For me it is kinda weird for having Batgirl/Barbara Gordon's background story restart for the New 52 by DC. As if Oracle did not exist and so does Birds of Prey. This and Vol 1 are stories that happened 3 years after the Killing Joke by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland event(guess DC still in love with Alan Moore).

I do understand that the New 52 is trying to pull in new readers who are not familiar with the Batman mythos. And one reason I don't collect single issues anymore because every year or so they re start franchises like they change underwear. I'd prefer reading the trade collection just in case the series ends (I, Vampire) or restarting all over again (Action Comics, Justice League). Sucks to read comicbooks sometimes.

Anyways I am torn between artists Ardian Syaf and Ed Benes to go along Gail Simone's storytelling. Maybe have Ardian do the covers and Ed do the interiors. I hope Gail and the artists should do the series for the next 5 years.
