Sapphic The Lake House x Everything Everywhere All at Once
This book is a feat. This stuck the landing so hard it was unbelievable.
Just gorgeously written. There were chapters, I was on the verge of tears in anticipation and then this book has two of the most incredibly sexy non sex scenes in print. The whiplash was immense and I was gripped on every word.
There’s so much science fiction/quantum physics hard science questions in this but it was immensely readable and frankly entertaining to read. Probably cause the characters were trying to figure out what was going on as well.
I will be reading her other books.
“The why question is actually a how question. How have we come to experience two universes at one time? Or managed to travel from one to the other? Because that’s what we’re talking about.”
“Everything has gotten so messy since Meryl disappeared, it’s as if I’ve never thought in a straight line, ever.”
“If you can, try and think about this extraordinary glimpse into how time operates as proof that you never really lose anyone. You don’t. All your love exists everywhere, all the time.’
‘Every single universe there was in the infinite infinite has this.’
‘This is an adventure, I will repeat that to myself until it feels like one.’
“Can the assurances the multiverse offers that every love is possible explain to person the shape of their queerness?”
