I honestly think I would have liked this webtoon better if it was an original story and not based on the Archie comics. My familiarity with and fondness for the OG characters made me have very complicated feelings about this. Like I have to admit that Seth was a really good character, and I would have liked him in any other webtoon. But here, he literally had to go up against childhood nostalgia, and he lost.

Also I kind of felt weirdly let down by how the conflict with Jughead was resolved. The ending just did not match the tension that was being built around this plot point. The same thing happened with
Veronica's stalker/online bully arc
. Actually, the pacing was one of Big Ethel Energy's major flaws.

In conclusion, there were exactly 3 things I liked about this webtoon:
Ms. Grundy's story about her ex-girlfriend and granddaughter. Veronica's arc with the sustainability expert (this was so cute!). Jughead's friendship with Tim Franco.
