All the Things We Do in the Dark by Saundra Mitchell

3.0

I read this the other night, it was a quick read, yet upon finishing it I could not write a review. Walking into the book I knew early on this was the story of the author's rape, and armed with that knowledge, what should've been a fictional rape experience was a much more sour terrible journey into the mental workings of a victim/survivor/whatever jargon you choose to use. Hence why I was feeling like my opinion on the matter was irrelevant, if this was her journey, her process of healing, then the rest of us are mere visitors taking a quick momentary glimpse into the workings in her head. Which is why, even now after writing so many words, I still choose to refrain from stating my true opinion of the book. I do not know why I'm even writing all of this, perhaps a quick reminder to self if I ever choose to revisit, of how I felt the first time.
