This book was so much better than I thought it could or would be. Damn.
I truly DID NOT see the twist coming at the end of book one OR book two. It completely blindsided me! And this book carries on so smoothly and so well. What an amazing piece of narrative building and writing! Ms. Black, what do you do this to us? I literally had to put the book down and stare at the wall for a bit afterwards.
Another case of amazing and effective tripling as well as being much better on not forgetting details or only bringing them up to try and push away tiny plot holes. More importantly, the enemies to lovers storyline is some immaculately! The whole "tell me you hate me" while killing? The fact that they both view their desire for one another as a sickness? IMMACULATE.
Cute note: the only time Jude doesn't warn Cardan before commanding him is to make sure he is never alone and, therefore, protected and not vulnerable. Freaking adorable.
