Monstrilio by Gerardo Sámano Córdova

2.5

I really loved the first half of this book, easy 5 stars, but the second half completely lost me.

It starts with an all consuming look at grief, and I seen the growth of Monstrillio as a metaphor for that grief and how it effected those around you-- but the second half lost that metaphor

The book itself is more domestic fiction with a horror elements-- and a lot of sex-- as opposed to a horror book exploring grief
It is broken up into 4 parts with 4 different POV, and I would have preferred it stuck with just the first one (and maybe the second pov for an outsiders look at depression). My main complaint is nothing about the writing differentiated the POV, they all felt like the same person to me.
