I really enjoyed this novel. It's been a long time since I've found myself so engrossed in a book.
I saw myself connect to the main character almost immediately and I was very much interested to see where her story goes. The turn of events had been placed cleverly and the suspense was well built. Overall, the story didn't disappoint. It had the usual charm of Sparks' simple yet resourceful writing that has come a long way through minute and attentive observation of the intricacies of human behaviour. Katie is one of those characters one can always admire for their strength of character and how they handle themselves and those they love, in times of adversity. Alex is a sound example of a wonderful husband and a loving father.
Despite its tilt towards the dark side, it had a very warm undertone to it. A perfect novel to fly through on a lazy weekend.
