While the mystery itself is another closed room classic, some of the narration was jarring. No doubt originating from the next itself, some of the voices of the Egyptian children were racist, almost caricatures of the Middle East. While the novel is very much a product of it's time, the choices the narrator made were more recent and are harder to excuse.
