okay everyone needs to read this book
if i was being picky i’d say 4.75. ⭐️
I can’t believe this is a debut - from the first 15 pages I knew it’d be 5 stars. A beautiful book about family trauma and how it’s passed down for generations, and even breaking the cycle. AND SO MUCH MORE
this book has one of the most wholesome and realistic friend groups i’ve read in a while that actually had me in tears because of their love and softness.
I could say many other things, but wow. this was truly beautiful.
and now for a quote that made me gasp and close the book for a few minutes:
“I wondered if my wish to become a granddaughter Mama Letty would miss was buried somewhere deep in the silt.”
If Jas Hammonds writes another book i’ll read it
