The Ritual Process: Structure and Anti-Structure by Alfred Harris, Roger D. Abrahams, Victor Turner

informative slow-paced

3.5

A little dry at times (looking at you, chapter 4) but otherwise a very adept explanation of ritual and liminality. It is interesting to read about the origins of liminality as a concept in the context of today where it seems like people throw the word around to mean just about anything. If you are interested in liminality specifically, I would recommend this over van Gennep's The Rites of Passage because it offers a more in-depth look at liminal rituals and how they function within a number of different societal contexts.
