Heartbreaking but it felt like a genuine, believable story from start to finish. We meet Nadia and Saeed(pronounced Sade) are from a city of which we don’t know the name of (I presume somewhere Arab.) Saeed is drawn to Nadia and verbally expresses him wanting to get to know her, despite her not fully a traditional woman at the time in the sense that she rides a motorcycle of some kind and has expressed she doesn’t pray. Why she wears her black robes in particular? “ So men don’t fuck me with me.” One of my favorite lines ! We travel with Nadia and Saeed from this unnamed city to Greece, to London and finally California. I don’t want to spoil the ending but I thought it was a realistic and again genuine way of maturing as we get older about our wants and needs. Looking forward to more from this author !
