A Gesture Life by Chang-rae Lee

5.0

I really loved this book, if not for the very polite and nice old Japanese man it was about. He was adorable and I loved him and felt for him. Being the child of an Asian parent I understand the daughter but at the same time, I felt like the father really tried. It's a very cute story. But then also, the flashbacks to his time in the war were intriguing and well done. They seemed real to me and told me a lot that I didn't know about the war. Overall a very good read.
