I was really disappointed by this book. I love Isabel Ibañez’ writing usually and this book just really missed for me. I found the characters to be really one dimensional and the plot to be dragging. I don’t think the imagery carried the story as much as I would have hoped with those issues either. I just ended up frustrated at the main character as her conflict with her uncle and her parents seemed really contrived to me. Really disappointing for me unfortunately but I did give it an honest read through! Maybe the second one will be better if I decide to read it, and I’m not turned away from her as an author.
