I enjoyed Quicksilver. I can’t help but compare every single FMC to Aelin but soon I found that Saeris has her own thing going for her. The writing didn’t blow me away as anything special but I was entertained. Kingfisher is a good MMC but I have to say, the sex scenes felt a little rushed and I was missing romance and tenderness. I understand how the first one is specifically non romantic because they’re trying to avoid their deep feelings but as they progressed, I wanted more sweetness. The best part of a big mean scary MMC is that they soften for one person only and I wanted a bit more of that for Fisher to be perfect. I’m unsure if I’ll read the second book in the series but enjoyed it enough that if I feel like I want more, I can definitely go back. The ending was a great cliffhanger where Saeris is announced that she’ll be queen because she killed the vampire king Malcolm. There weren’t enough female characters for me, Everlayne and Saeris were the only main ones, Madra as the evil queen being the third. Nothing against the men/males but I like the girlies more.
