Just a Bit Captivated by Alessandra Hazard

4.0

If you’ve read any of the Straight Guy books, you know they are usually a lot of steam wrapped up in a unique story. You might have to suspend reality for a moment but most of us read this series for the possessive, sexy men, and that is exactly what you find in this book, too.
Young Aiden’s journey starts out in a very difficult way, by being trafficked and sold in the Middle East. Little does he know that Zain, a wealthy son of a sheikh, bought him on a whim for his brother to cover up his sexuality. Aiden does everything in his power to insult and irritate Zain, but the stoic man doesn’t seem to be bothered by this. Instead, he suggests to Aiden that he should ‘practice’ on him, even though he claims he is straight. Their increased interactions bring them closer and closer, not just physically but emotionally as well, so by the time Aiden is able to leave (due to an unexpected event) he is attached to Zain way too much. Alessandra is great at writing possessive, obsessive characters who do everything in their power to keep their men. Or in this case, get him back. I enjoyed seeing how these two guys changed throughout Aiden’s captivity and the following time period. I also liked that even though the book obviously has traumatic themes, it’s not overly dark or heavy. The steam is spot on, as per usual in this series, with a bit of humiliation kink thrown in there. You’ll also enjoy seeing some characters from the previous book.
