Achingly beautiful, a treasure that will certainly haunt my mind and thoughts.
The heartbreak and unspeakable things portrayed in this story are truly gut-wrenching… but stories like this should be told, and must not be forgotten lest the world forget how to learn from itself and remember every single human being deserves dignity, liberty, love, tenderness. All the things never given to those in slavery. Or for the families that ceased, torn apart, or forgotten because of it.
