The Leopard King by Ann Aguirre

This was wonderful!

There are so many shifter books out there, it can often feel like, you've read one; you've read them all. I honestly wasn't expecting much out of this book. I was delighted to open it and find a well thought out, unique world with dynamic characters.

Dom left his home 3 years ago after the brutal murder of his wife. He's spent that time in isolation, desperate to drink himself to death. Pru was once best friends with Doms wife, and considered Dom a close friend as well, when she's chosen to go up the mountain and drag back their erstwhile leader, she's unsure what she'll find. What follows is a gripping adventure full of politics, intrigue, spies and assassins. But at the heart of the storm is 2 people, both a little damaged and wary, deciding to lean on one another and maybe trust in love again.

I can't say enough good things about it, just go pick it up and read for yourself ;)
