I really enjoyed this 2nd installment! I think I liked the 1st a little bit better, sometimes it feels like nothing is happening even tho so much is happening which is I think bc of how fast and close together the events are. I love love love the characters so at this point the series has my bias in its favor. finian is definitely my favorite character (kal probably 2nd), I wish we got his pov a little more in this book </3 I'm rooting so hard for him and Scarlett URGH!! I think all the characters had nice development in this one and I enjoyed getting more about zila and having her chapters be longer. having aurora and kal be able to bond for MONTHS in the echo was also lovely bc it makes their relationship. feel so much more realistic. kal is so house wifey i just love him. one thing that really fucking annoyed me was the reveal about Kals father. I understand why they were upset he kept that a secret and why Scarlett especially felt betrayed, but why were none of them willing to hear him out at ALL. aurora wasn't even there for those events and was ready to drop him. I'm so sorry kal I would've heard you out I would've treated you better I know u I know ur heart and see your struggle. I know aurora is like "oh man I guess I do still love him" at the end but I just hate the "huge secret causes giant rift/conflict" plot device it makes me so irritated. anyways, I also liked saedii's introduction! I support women's wrongs and she is a girlboss. its hard to tell if it's just bait or if the authors are actually intending to have her and Tyler get together but that would be interesting... we'll see. I'm waiting for my hold on the 3rd book rn and I feel like I'll be so sad when I finish...
