Maika comws closer than ever before to the answers she's long sought-- buy those answers carry a steep price. As per her friends and allies reveal long-held secerts and shifting allegiances, Maika finds herself at the mercy of the Lord Doctor, a charismatic demagogue whose connections to Maika ans Zinn run deeper than anyone could have imaged.
📚My Review
Volume 4 follows the destruction of Pontus and the rift in the sky that reveal the long sealed Old God Monstra ( That shit is scary😨).
❤️What I loved
●The difference species of powerful beings. The Ancients are the most radiant!
●The layering of the plot
●The Gothic art work
●Action scenes
●Development of Kippa
●Lord Doctor
●The Federation blew up✌🏾🤯
●Dusk Court & Dawn Court are🫂
This time the pacing of the book flip/flop between scene cause a brief whiplash. I
Was happy see the Fox, Kippa powers manifest. As the youngest members of Maika's groups, Kippa is full of compassion, wisdom, and forgiveness.
Finally, we get to meet Maika father! And he is zaddy🤤🤤. Know by many names, Lord Doctor-- is charismatic, smart, and cunning. His group in his "Blood Court" are packed with war hardened fighters, strategists, and generals. He is scary 😨
Maika's reunion with her father was not sweet. Thought there is history, their relationship is very touch and go. Maika is stubborn and reacts before thinking through things which was present throughout volume 4.
As always the action is always explosive. Which is beautiful about this series. It gives you all the gore and drama. As I continue to the next book. I am left with questions:
1. Why is The Baroness in all the drama?
2. What did Zinn due to the Shama-Empress?
3. What Kippa Power?
4. Will the Old Gods Come Back?
5. Who will be victorious in the end?
