Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney

5.0

To say I loved this book would be an understatement!
It is so mysterious, it has echos of And Then There
Were None by Agatha Christie but with a modern
twist & involving members of the same family.
I'm a sucker for a good murder mystery and this one
is simply amazing! I found it so hard to put down. It
was really refreshing to read as it's been a while since
I've read a good mystery. This is the first book that
I've read that has bits of poetry in it and I really
enjoyed it!
I really warmed to Daisy and her Nana, although I
disliked the rest of the family for reasons I can't
mention as I don't want to give any spoilers (a)
Alice took five years to finish writing this book and
you can certainly tell the amount of time, effort and
love that went into this book!
As for the ending of this book, wow, just wow. It took
me completely by surprise, I was mind blown, I could
have never seen that coming!
This is the best book I've read so far this year, it had
me hooked from the offset and kept me hooked until
the final page. I haven't read such a shocking twist
since I read The Silent Patient!
A whodunnit with an unbelievable twist that will leave
you with your jaw on the floor!
This was my first Alice Feeney book and you best
believe I will be reading all of the others!
If you're a fan of murder mysteries or Agatha Christie
you need to read this!
