I almost DNFed this book so many times. I stuck it out, and it wasn't worth it. I listened to the audio, and hated the narrator only to find out that it was the author herself. I wonder if I would've liked it better and been more engaged if I'd read it instead of listened, but it was a little all over the place with the main plot, the Bruno plot, and the Neanderthal stuff.
