The Berry Pickers is a heart wrenching story following two siblings throughout their life after one is kidnapped. Amanda Peters eloquently writes a narrative that delves into the emotions of various traumas, the difficulties of native peoples across Canada, and what it means to belong and to hope.

I was able to snag this as an audiobook from the library. The narration of The Berry Pickers captivated me from start to finish. The skillful portrayal by the narrators not only brought the characters to life but also amplified the emotional depth of the story.

I recommend this book for people who enjoy multiple points of view and stories involving families.

Here’s my haiku:

Heart’s ache in their plight,
Traumas told through poignant words,
Hope blooms in despair.
