This was a weird little book. Weird, but important.

You could say all that this book is about are women sitting in the attic and talking. And maybe it could be true but only on the surface level.

Because this book is about many things.

About giving a voice to those who were taught to be a quiet and obedient.

About female strength and courage to live and decide for oneself. Even in the face of unimaginable abuse.

About how religion can be used as a tool of patriarchy.

About running away that can actually be the greatest act of courage.

About women whose stories deserve to be told and listened. So please, listen. Or, in this case, start reading
