This book was fine but I think it was just a little sporty for me. If you don’t know anything about baseball (like me) you might not like it. I had a hard time for the first third of the book.
I can see why people love this book, the trans joy was immaculate. I love the found family aspect of it all, and I also love the way Gene has to work on wanting things for himself. And the act two was very enjoyable. But I wish we could have seen more of why Luis stop talking to Gene in the first place. I also think I would have connected more to the story if it was told in a dual pov.
