How to Lose Your Mother: A Daughter's Memoir by Molly Jong-Fast

emotional funny hopeful informative inspiring reflective sad tense medium-paced

4.5

Very engaging, humorous, and candid memoir, interspersed with cameos of famous family friends and accounts of life in 70's and 80's and present-day NYC. with vignettes of life with a famous, brilliant but problematic, absent parent.  The heart of the book is an extremely relatable account of a woman confronting a dual family crisis of aging parents suddenly unable to live independently along with the life threatening illness of her beloved spouse. Highly recommended.
