dare I say it … my favorite romance of the year???
I stayed up all night reading this — something that hasn’t happened (especially for a physical book) to me in a long time.
I was surprised by how much I liked It Happened One Summer that I knew I needed to get my hands on the second one ASAP, but I am more surprised that I loved this one even more. Fox and Hannah are more believable characters who bring out the best in each other without being forceful. I love that they call each other out on their bullshit.
I also appreciated the relative lack of unnecessarily gendered words for their genitalia (my main complaint about the first book). Definitely less smut in this one but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t steamy.
