I was a little hesitant about this book at the beginning. Based on the jacket I wasn't to sure I was going to care for the story. Once I got into the story I had all I could to put it down.
The story is very compelling and helps explore people's discrimination through the eyes of the main character. One of my favorite parts of the story is that not only do you experience the story through the main character August, you also experience it through his friends and family. This adds and extra dimension to the story.
I have to admit that I had a feeling how the story was going to end. Which I was in the right line of thinking. I was still surprised by the way it was presented. In fact I will admit it caused me to actually cry. Which is hard to get me to do on most cases especially with a book.
