I'll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara

challenging dark informative slow-paced

Honestly, I did not like this book. At no point was I interested, and most of the time I would zone out at how repetitive the content was. It made me feel bad, zoning out I mean, because I should care about the horrible things that happened to these women (and men), but this book for whatever reason never made me care. I did enjoy the last chapter, but this is perhaps because I was so zoned out most of the time I googled what happened around the 60% mark. So when we finally got to the last chapter I was suddenly invested since I knew what was going on. Maybe if I'd been more familiar with this case before going into the book I'd have had more to gain. Overall it was well written and well-narrated. It is rather sad Michelle died before seeing the outcome of her hard work pay off, but I'm glad something came out of it.
