Checkmate by Malorie Blackman

5.0

Checkmate has all the best bits of Knife Edge and Noughts and Crosses and fewer of the downfalls. The movement between characters is compelling and gives a bigger picture to the reader, and the characters are much more likeable, and understandable here.
I really enjoyed the more hopeful ending Checkmate had and the way we knew roughly where the plot was ending. It gave an interesting insight to the earlier events and made me want to know how we got there!
Would definitely recommend and I'm looking forward to moving on to Double Cross.
