This would have been given 1 star but the last 30% gave the rating a boost. This book was all hype, clumsy and full of terrible descriptive cringey metaphors and who uses creamy as a description (for a woman’s…).  Z needs to see a chiropractor or get a head and shoulders massage with all the neck cracking (should have tallied how many times I was told about his tense muscles) and don’t get me started on the huge ego complex. This book was constantly justifying his actions (like stick to one justification stop repeatedly changing it). oh and if we forgot no one was better than him, he kept reminding us CONSTANTLY that he was the best! And Addie was infuriating with her inner monologue and weak explanations for her actions. I just felt that she had surface level depth and nothing more.  This book had too many contrasting story lines going on (like why did we need ghosts?) and could have just started 50% of the way in to get any kind of substance and 70% for any kind of romantic connection. I liked the chase scenes but the praise kink was so overdone that it got cringey and boring fast. The hyped gun scene in chapter 16 was underwhelming! And lastly why write that Addie got drunk and then follows her friend home in her car? (What was the need for drunk driving?) I really wanted to like this book but the story, writing and characters fell flat for me.
